       The Cerebrovascular Department at Taipei Neuroscience Institute is dedicated to providing high-quality stroke care. By integrating multiple medical units, including neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, and nursing, we form a multidisciplinary team centered around the patient to offer standardized, holistic stroke care. To continuously improve care quality, the stroke center consistently introduces various clinical instruments and medical technologies and has established dedicated stroke wards and intensive care units to offer more professional and superior care services.

       The Cerebrovascular Department places great emphasis on stroke education and advocacy, organizing numerous educational activities for stroke patients and World Stroke Day events to provide more relevant information to patients and the public.

       In the future, the Cerebrovascular Department at Taipei Neuroscience Institute will continue to enhance clinical treatment, striving for excellence in surgical and interventional therapies. Simultaneously, the center will persist in basic research and the development of clinical trials and translational medicine to make the best contributions to stroke patients.

       (1)Formation and Connotation of the Team's Mission, Values, and Vision: To ensure that stroke patients receive the best treatment and rehabilitation outcomes, we are committed to integrating various medical resources and services to provide comprehensive care, including prevention, acute treatment, subsequent rehabilitation, and long-term management of stroke.By advancing the level of a "comprehensive stroke center," we aim to become a leader in acute stroke treatment in the northern region and nationwide, offering excellent stroke care, improving patient recovery outcomes, and developing specialized research teams to enhance medical standards.

       (2)Implementation of the Team's Mission, Values, and Vision: To realize the goal of becoming a leader in acute stroke treatment and provide the best care and rehabilitation support for stroke patients, while developing specialized research teams to enhance medical standards, we will focus on the following areas:
1.Excellence in Acute Treatment: Providing rapid and accurate acute stroke treatments, including intravenous thrombolysis and arterial thrombectomy, ensuring the medical team has the expertise and skills to quickly and effectively handle acute stroke patients.

2.Case Management and Rehabilitation: Offering comprehensive case management from acute treatment to the rehabilitation stage, including personalized rehabilitation plans, professional rehabilitation therapy, and education to help patients regain functions and improve their quality of life as soon as possible.

3.Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Emphasizing collaboration among neurologists, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation physicians, nurses, and other professionals to ensure patients receive comprehensive, coordinated, and continuous care during stroke treatment and rehabilitation.

4.Continuous Professional Development and Research: Committing to ongoing professional development to enhance the medical team's expertise and skills, actively participating in stroke-related clinical research and academic exchanges to advance and innovate stroke treatment.

5.Advanced Medical Technology: Introducing the latest medical technologies, including diagnostic tools, surgical instruments, and treatment methods to provide more accurate, safe, and effective medical services.

6.Expansion of Facilities and Equipment: Expanding existing facilities and equipment to increase medical capacity and improve patient experience, which may include increasing the number of beds, establishing more operating rooms, and setting up advanced medical facilities.

7.Optimization of Service Space: Optimizing hospital service spaces to ensure patients have a comfortable and safe environment while receiving medical services, which may include improving ward facilities, offering more humanized patient care, and enhancing the overall quality of the hospital environment.

8.Smart Healthcare and Biomedical Translation:Integrating smart healthcare and biomedical translation concepts to promote the application of medical information technology, enhancing service quality and medical efficiency for patients. Encouraging research teams to translate scientific achievements into practical applications, accelerating the promotion and application of biomedical innovations.

       (3)Philosophy and Culture of Comprehensive Quality Management:

1.Establishing cerebrovascular disease treatment guidelines, enabling team members to execute tasks according to the standard model of the medical care team, providing holistic and continuous care through multidisciplinary collaborative care.

2.Facilitating two-way, multi-channel communication between medical specialists and related care units. During a patient's hospitalization, activating various teams for relevant stroke treatment, with team members discussing patient issues and care content based on a "bi-directional and multi-team care platform," including clinical physicians, specialized nurses, case managers, social workers, pharmacists, nutritionists, rehabilitation therapists, and discharge planners, promoting collaboration and information sharing among teams.

       Through these measures, the Cerebrovascular Department team at Taipei Neuroscience Institute continuously strives to improve care quality, ensuring that patients receive the best treatment and care, and ensuring effective communication and coordination among team members to achieve the overall goal of care.
