       Noninvasive neuroimaging: Almost all neurological diseases require advanced imaging examinations to evaluate the extent of neurological system involvement before treatment.

       We assess the impact of diseases on the nervous system using non-invasive methods. Whether it's the extent of stroke, the size of tumors, the range of disc herniation causing compression, or head injury, all require neurological imaging evaluation. Although we do not directly interact with patients in this part, we still play a role throughout the entire treatment process. Currently, neuroimaging has shifted from traditional qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis. We can now quantify changes in brain perfusion, the severity of vascular stenosis, malignant degree of tumors, and even determining the extent of stroke by assistance of AI software. Medical imaging goes toward the goal of "precision medicine."

2. Neuro & Vascular Intervention Minimally Invasive Surgery
       Minimal invasive neurovascular intervention: The field of neuroradiology is often associated with diagnostic imaging, but with solid training in vascular procedures throughout the body, we are also well-versed in minimal invasive neurovascular intervention. Currently, our departments has full trained physicians, who can perform emergent endovascular thrombectomy for large vessel occlusions in acute ischemic stroke, placement of stents in the brain and neck, embolization for cerebral aneurysms, and interventions for other cerebrovascular lesions. In addition to possessing qualifications to perform interventional surgery, Taipei Medical University also has several senior teachers who can teach neurointerventional surgery to junior colleagues. Moreover, in the Shuang-Ho hospital, we have a special clinic for minimal invasive neurovascular intervention (Tuesday and Thursday mornings). If individuals have related questions, they can visit the clinic for consultation. Besides vascular interventions, we also develop interventions for pain management. Currently, the most unique one is TAME (Transcatheter Arterial Microembolization), where we use vascular imaging to guide microcatheters for delivering embolic agents through a small incision in the groin or wrist, reaching the tiny blood vessels in inflamed joints, which helps patients alleviate pain. Clinical statistics show that approximately 80% of patients experience significant pain relief after treatment, restoring their quality of life, with effects lasting for up to 2 years. If the treatment combines with rehabilitation during this period, the effects can last even longer. If individuals have related questions, they can visit the clinic for consultation.
